1. About the Competition
Teachers’ Day is a lovely chance to do something a little special for the teachers who teach us, guide us and encourage us every day. And what could be nicer than making them a card with your own hands?
The Teachers’ Day Card Competition 2026 is being organised by Shaykh Art in collaboration with Shaykh Academy. We’re inviting participants from across India to put their creativity to work and make an original handmade card for a teacher.
There’s no fixed design or complicated theme to follow. You can use your own ideas, colours, craft materials and style. Just make sure the card is handmade by you and created especially for this competition.
And yes, there are cash prizes too!
2. Who Can Participate?
This competition is open to participants across India.
Students from Nursery to Class 12 can participate and if you’re not currently studying in any of these classes, you can simply choose “Others” while filling out the form.
There’s no entry fee, so anyone who enjoys making and creating can take part. Just bring your ideas, your craft supplies and a little love for your teacher.
3. Important Dates
You’ve got a little time to plan, create and give your card your own personal touch. Just make sure you don’t miss the deadline!
Entries Open: 20 August 2026
Last Date to Submit: 3 September 2026, 11:59 PM IST
Winners Announced: 5 September 2026, i.e. Teachers’ Day
So, don’t leave it for the last minute, start creating and get your entry in on time!
4. The Challenge
Here’s where you get to be as creative as you want!
Your task is simple. Make a handmade Teachers’ Day card for a teacher you appreciate. It can be bright and colourful, simple and elegant, full of drawings, little messages, paper crafts or anything else you’d like to add.
There’s no fixed design you have to follow and no particular material you need to use. Paper, colours, cardboard, quilling, origami, recycled materials, decorative pieces; use whatever you have and turn your idea into a card.
Just remember one thing: the card should be made by you. We want to see your own creativity and the thought you put into it.
5. How to Participate
Taking part is pretty simple. You just need to do these few things:
1. Create your card:
Make an original handmade Teachers’ Day card using your own ideas and creativity.
2. Take a clear photo:
Click a good, clear picture of your finished card. Make sure the whole card can be seen properly.
3. Record a short process video:
Take a few seconds or up to a couple of minutes of video showing a glimpse of the card-making process. You don’t need to record the entire process. No face is required, simply focus the video on the card and the making process.
4. Fill out the entry form:
Enter your details carefully and upload your card photo and process video.
5. Submit your entry:
Check everything once and submit the form before 3 September 2026, 11:59 PM IST.
That’s it! Your entry is ready to be considered.
6. Handmade & Originality Requirements
We really want this competition to be about your own creativity, so your card should be handmade by you and created especially for this competition.
You can definitely look at ideas online for inspiration. You can check out different card designs, colours, craft techniques or ideas and then come up with your own version. Taking inspiration is completely fine, but copying someone’s complete card is not.
Please keep the following in mind:
- Your card should be handmade by you.
- You can use any craft materials and techniques you like.
- AI-generated cards, fully digital designs, downloaded images/designs, purchased or ready-made cards will not be accepted.
- Do not submit a card made by someone else.
- You may use online references for ideas, but the final design should be your own work and creativity.
We’re not looking for the most expensive materials or the fanciest card. We simply want to see what you can create with your own hands and imagination.
7. Process Video Requirement
We’re asking for a short making-process video simply to make sure the cards submitted are genuinely handmade. With so many ready-made and AI-generated designs around, we want to keep the competition fair and give everyone a fair chance.
You do not need to record the entire card-making process. Just share a small glimpse of the card-making process, a few seconds or up to 2 minutes is perfectly fine. No face is required; simply focus the video on the card and the making process.
You could show things like:
- Cutting or folding the paper
- Drawing or colouring
- Adding decorations
- Writing your message
- Putting the different parts of the card together
The video is only for verification, so there’s no need to make it look like a tutorial or a professionally recorded video. A simple clip from your phone is more than enough.
8. How Will Your Card Be Judged?
Every card will be looked at with the idea behind it in mind, not just how fancy or colourful it looks. We want to see the thought, creativity and effort that went into making it.
The entries will be judged on:
- Creativity & Originality — 30%
How unique and creative your idea is. - Craftsmanship — 25%
The care, effort and neatness that goes into making the card. - Teachers’ Day Theme — 20%
How well your card connects with Teachers’ Day and the idea of appreciating a teacher. - Design & Presentation — 15%
How well the colours, layout, decorations and overall design come together. - Overall Impact — 10%
The feeling and impression your card leaves when we see it.
Your card will be judged on its creativity and the work you put into it.
9. Cash Prizes
Yes, there’s a little something waiting for the winners too!
Three participants will be selected for the top three positions and will receive cash prizes:
🥇 1st Prize — ₹500
🥈 2nd Prize — ₹300
🥉 3rd Prize — ₹200
The prizes will be sent through UPI after the winners are announced and the required details are verified.
For participants who are minors, the prize may be transferred to the parent/guardian’s UPI account.
Total cash prizes: ₹1,000
And of course, the winning cards will also get a special feature on Shaykh Art and Shaykh Academy’s official social-media platforms.
10. Rules & Disqualification
We want everyone to have a fair chance, so there are just a few things to keep in mind while submitting your entry.
Please make sure that:
- Your entry is submitted before 3 September 2026, 11:59 PM IST.
- You submit only one card per participant.
- The card is handmade by you and follows the originality guidelines.
- You upload the required short making-process video along with your card photo.
- All the information provided in the entry form is correct and genuine.
- You do not submit someone else’s work or try to present it as your own.
- You do not make any attempt to unfairly influence or manipulate the judging process.
An entry may be disqualified if it does not follow the competition guidelines or if the information or submitted work is found to be misleading, copied, AI-generated, digitally created, purchased or otherwise ineligible.
We’d much rather see a simple card made with genuine effort than something impressive that isn’t your own. So, keep it original and make it yours.

12. A Few Important Submission Notes
Before you submit your entry, please keep these small but important points in mind:
a. Submit before the deadline
Your entry must be completely submitted through the official entry form before the stated closing time. Simply opening the form or uploading files without completing the submission does not count as an entry.
b. Check your files before submitting
Please make sure your card photograph is clear and your process video can be opened and viewed properly. If a file is missing, corrupted or too unclear to verify the entry, it may not be considered.
c. One final submission
Once you submit your entry, please make sure everything is correct. Changes or replacement files after submission are not guaranteed. If you face a genuine technical issue before the deadline, you may contact us and we will try to assist where possible.
d. No need to send the physical card
You do not need to courier or physically submit your card to us. Your entry will be judged using the photographs and other material submitted through the official form.
e. Same judging criteria for everyone
Participants from Nursery to Class 12 and the “Others” category will be considered in the same competition. Entries will be judged on the published criteria rather than on the participant’s class or age.
f. In case of a tie
If two or more entries receive the same final score, the judges may use Creativity & Originality and Craftsmanship as tie-breakers. The judges’ decision will be final.
g. “Others” category
If you are not currently studying in Nursery to Class 12, you may select “Others” in the entry form. You will still be eligible to participate and will be judged by the same criteria.
h. Keep your original card safe
Although you do not need to send the physical card to us, please keep the original card safely until the competition and winner verification process is complete. The Organisers may contact a selected winner for additional verification if required.
i. Selected entries may be featured
Some entries may be featured on the official platforms of Shaykh Art and Shaykh Academy. By participating, you agree to the entry-use terms explained in our General Contest Terms & Conditions.
j. Keep your submission details handy
After submitting the form, keep the confirmation or any entry reference/details you receive. It may be useful if you need to contact us about your submission.
