Day 237/365 : Don’t run from it, run through it. Growth hides in resistance.

When something feels difficult, our first instinct is often to avoid it. Whether it’s a tough subject in school, a job interview, or even speaking in front of people—fear and discomfort make us want to run away. But what if the thing we’re avoiding is the very thing that can make us stronger? Like how lifting weights makes your muscles grow, challenges in life help build your inner strength. If we run from resistance, we miss the chance to grow.
Take the example of a shy student who’s afraid of public speaking. Every time there’s a class presentation, they feel nervous and want to avoid it. But one day, they decide not to run away. They prepare, speak up, and even though their voice shakes, they finish. Over time, they become more confident. That growth wouldn’t have come from hiding—it came because they chose to go through the fear, not away from it.
The real magic happens when we push through struggles. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about showing up and trying, even when it’s hard. The things we avoid are often the exact things that can shape us into who we’re meant to be.
