(1) The type of occupation determines a person’s income.

Ans:

(i) The income of a person is determined by the skills required for the job.

(ii) Primary occupations like fishing and animal husbandry require fewer skills, so a person engaged in a primary occupation will earn a lesser income.

(iii) A secondary occupation is an industrial activity, and hence it requires higher skills than those required for primary occupations.

(iv) Tertiary and quaternary occupations also require greater technical, organizational, and special skills.

(v) Having higher skills means having a higher income.

(vi) Hence, the type of occupation determines a person’s income.

 

(2) Primary occupations are associated with developing countries while tertiary, with developed countries.
