Lesson 25 – Little Words
fond friends: close friends
parted: separated
bonded: joined securely
mended: repaired
Things to do
1. Rewrite this poem as a short story.
Ans: In a village, best friends Lily and Max argued over a game. “Yes, you did, too,” Lily said. Max denied it. Their bond broke. They felt sad. Lily apologized, surprising Max. He apologized too. With those words, they hugged and smiled. Their hearts mend. Friendship mattered more. They promised to always be kind. Their bond grew stronger, making cherished memories together.
2. Form pairs or groups. Discuss the reasons why you have quarrels with other people. Then discuss what you can do to end the quarrel. Write short conversations on those ideas and present them.
Ans: Students should do this on their own.
3. Punctuate the following:
(a) yes, you did, too
i did not
Ans: “Yes, you did, too.”
“I did not.”
(b) i am sorry
so am i
Ans: “I am sorry.”
“So am I.”
