(3) Find N, and Σfixi 

Ans: From the above table, N = 25 and Σfixi = 1425

 

(4) Find the mean of electricity used by each family in the month of May.

Ans: 

Mean (x̄) = \(\large \frac {Σfi × xi}{N}\)

              = \(\large \frac {1425}{25}\)

              = 57

3. The number of members in the 40 families in Bhilar are as follows: 

1, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 7, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 4, 6, 2, 3, 2, 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 3, 4, 5, 2, 4, 3, 2, 3, 5, 5, 4, 6, 2, 3, 5, 6, 4, 2. Prepare a frequency table and find the mean of members of 40 families.

1. Observe the following graph and answer the questions.

(1) State the type of the graph.

Ans: The given graph is a subdivided bar graph.

 

(2) How much is the savings of Vaishali in the month of April?

Ans: Vaishali’s savings in the month of April is Rs 600.

 

(3) How much is the total savings of Saroj in the months of March and April?

Ans: Total savings of Saroj in the months of March and April is Rs 800.

 

(4) How much more is the total savings of Savita than the total savings of Megha?

Ans: 

Savita’s total saving = Rs 1000

Megha’s total saving = Rs 500

 

∴ Difference in their savings 

= 1000 – 500 

= Rs 500

 

Savita’s saving is Rs 500 more than Megha.

 

(5) Whose savings in the month of April is the least?

Ans: Megha’s savings in the month of April is the least.

2. The number of boys and girls, in std 5 to std 8 in a Z.P. school is given in the table. Draw a subdivided bar graph to show the data.

Ans: The given graph is a percentage bar graph.

 

(2) How much percent is the Tur production to total production in Ajita’s farm?

Ans: Percent of tur production to the total production in Ajita’s farm is 60%. 

 

(3) Compare the production of Gram in the farms of Yash and Ravi and state whose percentage of production is more and by how much?

Ans: 

Production of Gram in the farm of Yash = 50%

Production of Gram in the farm of Ravi = 30%

 

∴ Difference in the production 

= 50% – 30% 

= 20%

 

Yash’s production of Gram is more and by 20%

 

(4) Whose percentage production of Tur is the least?

Ans: Sudha’s percentage production of Tur is the least.

 

(5) State production percentages of Tur and gram in Sudha’s farm.

Ans: Production percentages of Tur and Gram in Sudha’s farm are 40% and 60% respectively.
