India celebrates its 74th Republic Day!

India celebrates Republic Day on January 26 with grandeur each year. On this day, we hoist our national flag across the nation and magnificent parades in New Delhi's Janpath are conducted that include the Indian National Army. India will celebrate its 74th Republic Day in 2023.

Every January 26th, India celebrates Republic Day. With the adoption of the Constitution on January 26, 1950, India declared itself a sovereign, democratic, and republican state. As a result, the union government and citizens observe Republic Day every year on this day.On January 26th, 1950, a huge announcement was made in India’s Parliament declaring that the nation will now abide by the rules listed for the welfare and growth of its citizens.

 

Our constitution replaced the Government of India Act of 1935, establishing a separate republic from British colonial rule. On this day, a ceremony is held in Delhi, India’s capital, in the presence of India’s President.
