Dear Priya,
Hope you’re doing well! I wanted to share something interesting I learned recently in school.
We read about Gautama Buddha in our English class and his teachings really made me think. What surprised me most was how he told his followers not to blindly believe anything, not even what he taught them! He said we should test every teaching ourselves to see if it’s actually true or just sounds good. He also said we shouldn’t praise others or expect praise in return. We should focus on learning and improving ourselves instead of worrying about who’s the best teacher or the greatest person. I find this approach really practical and honest.
Buddha was incredibly wise but also very humble. His ideas about kindness, respect and thinking for yourself are still so relevant today. I’ve been trying to follow some of his teachings, like being kind to everyone and questioning things instead of just accepting them.
What do you think about this? Have you learned anything interesting lately that changed your perspective? Do write back soon. Give my regards to aunty and uncle.
Your loving friend,
XYZ
