My Dear Father,

You may be surprised to get another letter from me so soon after my previous one. However, I am writing to ask for your permission for something important. Our school has arranged an educational trip for the students of Class VIII to the famous Ajanta and Ellora Caves. Around forty students and five teachers will be joining the trip. It is a part of our school fieldwork and learning programme, so all students are expected to participate. It will also help us learn more about our history and culture.

We will leave on 30th April by a comfortable bus and return on 4th May in the evening. During the journey, we will also visit a few other historical places. The cost of the trip is Rs. 1,000 per student. Father, this will be my first long school trip and I am very excited about it. I have read a lot about these caves and would love to see them in person. I am eagerly looking forward to this opportunity.

I hope you will allow me to join the trip and send me about Rs. 1,200 at the earliest. Please also sign the enclosed consent form and send it back soon, as it has to be submitted to the school.
