Jawaharlal Nehru loved children. His birthday, November 14, is celebrated as Children’s Day all over India. To children, he is known as ‘Chacha Nehru’.
When Nehru was very young, he met Gandhiji. He was inspired by his ideas. He joined the freedom struggle against the British. He went to jail many times. When India became free, Jawaharlal Nehru became its first prime minister.
Nehru’s book ‘Discovery of India’ is very famous. This book shows his strong love for India, with its green fields, great rivers, forests, and mountains. Nehru worked hard to make India a modern nation. The progress and prosperity of India were his only aims. He is called the architect of modern India.

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was the first Prime Minister of India. He loved children very much, so we celebrate Children’s Day on his birthday, November 14th.
He worked hard for India’s freedom with Mahatma Gandhi. After independence, he helped build a strong and modern nation.
Nehru always wore a rose on his coat and was called “Chacha Nehru” by children. He wanted every child to go to school and learn.
I admire Pandit Nehru for his love, wisdom, and care for the country.
