Holi

holi Holi

1

Holi is the festival of colours. Holi is generally celebrated for two days in the month of March.

On the first day, a bonfire is lit at night, and the goddess Holika is worshipped. Special sweet dishes are made for the occasion. The second day is ‘Dhulivandan’, when adults and children play with coloured water, powder, and water-filled balloons. Children enjoy this day a lot.

However, Holi should be celebrated with care. Healthy trees should not be cut for the bonfire. Bad-quality colour or paint should not be used. Strangers and passers-by should not be pelted with balloons or coloured powder. Only then will everyone enjoy it.

2

Holi is a fun and colourful festival celebrated in spring. People throw bright powders and water on each other. Everyone laughs and plays happily.

On Holi, families prepare special sweets like gujiya and thandai. Children sing songs and dance in the streets. Friends meet and greet each other with joy.

Holi celebrates the victory of good over evil. It brings people together and spreads happiness.

I enjoy Holi because it is full of colours, music, and fun with my family and friends.
