My Favourite Book
1
I love reading books. I have read many of them and I never feel bored when I am surrounded by books.
One book that has influenced me greatly and has become my favourite is an English prose version of the epic Ramayana. The language is simple and the story is very engaging. Whenever I start reading this book, I find it difficult to stop.
The book presents Lord Rama as an ideal person with noble qualities. It also tells us about the hardships he faced to remain true to his values. Devi Sita is shown as a devoted wife who willingly shares every difficulty with her husband. Bharata is a fine example of brotherly love and self-sacrifice. His respect and affection for Rama are truly remarkable.
There are many other characters in the story and each one plays an important role. Jatayu is one such memorable character. Hanuman is another. Both showed great loyalty and devotion to Lord Rama.
The Ramayana teaches important values such as devotion, loyalty, kindness and service. It also warns us against negative qualities like greed, selfishness and the desire for power. It is a book that offers a deeply meaningful and spiritual experience.
I have read this book many times. Every time I read it, it refreshes my mind and inspires me to become a better person.

I enjoy reading books and have read many of them over the years. Some books were interesting at the time, but I hardly remember them now. However, a few books have stayed in my mind for a long time because of their wonderful stories and characters.
My favourite book is Gulliver’s Travels by David Brown. It describes the strange and exciting adventures of a sailor named Lemuel Gulliver. I find this book so interesting that I have read it several times. Every time I read it, I enjoy it just as much as before. The book is divided into four parts, but the first two parts are the most popular and entertaining.
In the first part, Gulliver’s ship meets with an accident and he reaches a mysterious place called Lilliput. The people living there are only six inches tall, and even their animals are tiny. To the people of Lilliput, Gulliver looks like a giant. They call him a “man-mountain” and often behave in funny and surprising ways around him. Although he faces many difficulties there, he finally finds a remarkable way to leave the island.
During his second journey, Gulliver arrives in Brobdingnag, a country of giants where people are about sixty feet tall. Here, Gulliver seems extremely small compared to everyone else. He goes through many amusing as well as frightening adventures. A giant baby once tries to put him into its mouth, a dwarf throws him into a bowl of cream, and he even has to fight huge rats.
I greatly admire David Brown for the imagination shown in this story. The descriptions are so clear that I can easily imagine every scene. The first two parts of Gulliver’s Travels are especially enjoyable. It remains one of the best adventure stories I have ever read, and I hope to write stories as interesting as this one someday.
