Everyone has some ambition in life. It may be to become a doctor, a scientist, an engineer, a teacher, or even the Prime Minister of the country. Whatever it is, we must start planning and working for it, otherwise, it will remain only a dream. Life without direction can be aimless. Ambition gives purpose, motivates us and strengthens our determination.

My ambition is to become a journalist. I see it as a profession that is both challenging and exciting. It will allow me to travel widely within the country and even around the world. I will meet new people, experience different cultures and face new situations every day. Journalism will give me the chance to understand people’s lives, their struggles and their achievements up close.

This profession also carries a great responsibility. A journalist has the power to expose corruption, injustice and social evils and to raise awareness among people. It truly proves the saying: “The pen is mightier than the sword.”

To achieve my ambition, I plan to complete my M.A. in English and then pursue a course in journalism. I hope to work with respected newspapers such as The Times of India, The Indian Express, or The Hindu, or with magazines like India Today, Outlook, or The Week. I will look up to the lives of great journalists and try to follow their footsteps.

I know this profession is demanding. It will require skills such as strong communication, proficiency in the English language and digital literacy, along with qualities like courage, quick thinking and initiative. But I am confident that with determination and hard work, I will meet these standards. And when I achieve my ambition, I will perform my duties honestly, responsibly and without fear or favour.
