Annual Day in School
Our School Annual Day Function is celebrated every year on 12th December. This day marks the birth anniversary of the founder of our school. Prizes for achievements in academics, sports and other activities are also given away on this occasion. The programme is held in the auditorium, which is beautifully decorated for the event.
This year, Mr. Sharma, a well-known personality from our town, was the Chief Guest. He arrived at the school at exactly 5 p.m. and was warmly welcomed by the Principal. All the students and guests greeted him with loud applause.
After everyone had taken their seats, the Principal welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest. Our school Supervisor then presented the annual report, highlighting the school’s achievements during the year. Next, the Physical Education teacher announced the names of the prize winners. One by one, the students went up to the stage to receive their awards while the audience cheered for them.
I was delighted to receive two prizes; one for elocution and another for being the best student in my class. After the prize distribution, the Chief Guest addressed the audience. He congratulated the winners and encouraged other students to work hard and achieve success. His speech was short, inspiring and enjoyable.
This was followed by a colourful cultural programme presented by students from different classes. There were entertaining skits, lively dances and musical performances. My friend Rahul impressed everyone with his excellent mimicry. The Bhangra dance turned out to be the most energetic and exciting item of the evening.
At the end, the Vice-Principal delivered the vote of thanks. The function concluded with the National Anthem. It was a memorable and joyful occasion and I still cherish it, especially because I received two prizes.
