A Pleasant Walk by the Riverside

During most vacations, I usually spend time at my grandmother’s house. However, this year I visited my uncle’s village instead. It was a lovely place and I was excited to look around and learn more about it. So, the very next morning after arriving, I woke up early and went out with Rocky, my uncle’s friendly dog.

The sun was just beginning to rise, painting the sky with soft colours. Tiny drops of dew rested on the leaves and flowers and the fresh morning air felt wonderful. Before long, I reached the riverside. The river flowed quietly, its clear water shining in the gentle sunlight. I removed my shoes and enjoyed walking barefoot on the cool, soft sand. The villagers were already awake and busy with their morning routines. A few buffaloes stood calmly in the water while their owners washed them. Some children were happily swimming in a shallow part of the river where the current was slow and safe.

There I met a few boys I had become friends with the previous evening. Like me, they had recently finished their annual examinations and had come out for a morning walk. We talked and laughed as we walked through the shallow water. Rocky soon jumped into the river and we had great fun playing with him. The cool water felt smooth and refreshing.

It was a peaceful and relaxing morning. The sun’s rays were gentle, the river water was cool and birds sang cheerfully from the trees nearby. The branches swayed softly in the morning breeze. With no studies to worry about for the next few weeks, I felt completely carefree. It was the perfect way to enjoy my vacation.
