A Bad Workman Always Blames His Tools

If a teacher scolds a student for poor handwriting and the student blames his pen or pencil, he is simply making an excuse. Instead of accepting his mistake, he puts the blame on the tool he is using. In reality, he should try to improve his handwriting through regular practice. In the same way, if a person cooks food in a pressure cooker and it does not turn out properly, blaming the cooker alone is not always right. The problem may be a lack of skill or care while cooking.

We use many kinds of tools and instruments in our daily lives to complete different tasks. It is our responsibility to understand how they work and to use them correctly. When the result is not satisfactory, the tool is not always at fault. More often, it is because we have not used it properly. A tool is only a means of getting a job done. The quality of the final result depends largely on the person using it and the effort he puts into the work.

Only an unskilled workman keeps blaming his tools. A capable and hardworking person makes the best use of whatever is available and completes the task successfully. With the right attitude, careful thinking and proper use of our abilities, we can perform our work efficiently and achieve good results.
