Sentence: A sentence is a group of words that makes complete sense.

Examples:

  • I like ice cream.
  • The sun is shining.
  • Where is my bag?

Always Remember:

  • A sentence always starts with a capital letter.
  • A sentence always ends with a full stop (.), question mark (?) or exclamation mark (!).

What is a Statement?

A statement tells us something, gives information or expresses an idea.

Examples:

  • My name is Nita.
  • I have a pet dog.
  • The sky is blue.
  • We go to school every day.

What is a Question?

A question asks something. 

Examples:

  • How old are you?
  • What is your name?
  • Where do you live?
  • Can you swim?
