In English, we have a set of letters in a fixed order.
There are 26 letters in the English language.
These 26 letters make up the alphabet family.
We write these 26 letters in two ways:
Capital letters:
A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z
Small letters:
a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z
The letters Aa, Ee, Ii, Oo, Uu are called vowels.
The other letters are called consonants.
Alphabetical Order: The order in which we recall all the letters of the English alphabet family is the alphabetical order.
Rules:
- When we write a b c d e, all the letters are in alphabetical order.
- When we write a e d b c, the letters are not in alphabetical order.
- The first letter of every word helps us to write the words in alphabetical order.
Example:
bat, ant, cat, dog, pan
> ant, bat, cat, dog, pan
