(1) 7 metres into centimetres.

1 metre = 100 centimetres

Ans:
1 kilometre = 1000 metres
∴ 8 kilometres = 1000 × 8 metres
∴ 8 kilometres = 8000 metres
(3) 9 centimetres into millimetres.
Ans:
1 centimetre = 10 millimetres
∴ 9 centimetre = 10 × 9 millimetres
∴ 9 centimetre = 90 millimetres
(4) 5½ metres into centimetres.
Ans:
1 metre = 100 centimetres
∴ 5 metre = 100 × 5 centimetres
∴ 5 metre = 500 centimetres
and ½ metre = 50 centimetres
∴ 5½ metre = 5 metre + ½ metre
∴ 5½ metre = 500 centimetres + 50 centimetres
∴ 5½ metre = 550 centimetres
(5) 11 kilometres into metres.
Ans:
1 kilometre = 1000 metres
∴ 11 kilometres = 1000 × 11 metres
∴ 11 kilometres = 11000 metres
(6) 4 centimetres into millimetres.
Ans:
1 centimetre = 10 millimetres
∴ 4 centimetres = 10 × 4 millimetres
∴ 4 centimetres = 40 millimetres
(7) 8 metres into centimetres.
Ans:
1 metre = 100 centimetres
∴ 8 metre = 100 × 8 centimetres
∴ 8 metre = 800 centimetres

Ans:
