How is it removed or cleared?

Ans: Waste can be removed or cleared by having a good waste management plan. We should sort out waste of which some can be processed while the rest can be recycled. Our mantra should be : Reduce! Reuse! Recycle! Restore!

How can we help in the task of clearing or removing garbage?

Ans:

(i) We should stop littering.

(ii) We should reduce, reuse and recycle.

(iii) We should use organic waste to create biogas and compost.

(2) In what way can we help to reduce or minimize waste generation?

Discuss the issue in groups of 4 or 5 and note down all good suggestions.

Resolve to follow them yourself. Some have been given below for your reference.

    • Don’t waste food.
    • Take as much as you want but finish everything that’s on your plate.
    • Don’t throw away broken or half-used things. Repair them and use them.
    • Avoid things which can be used only once.
    • For example : thermocol (polysterene) cups, plastic glasses, etc.
    • Reuse !
    • Recycle !

Ans: Adopt a mindful approach by consuming food responsibly and finishing what’s on your plate. Repair broken items instead of discarding them, and avoid single-use products like plastic cups. Embrace reusables such as water bottles and bags, while actively promoting recycling. Composting food scraps contributes to waste reduction. Encourage donations and educate others about these practices to collectively create a positive impact on our environment. Opt for products with minimal packaging, cutting down on waste. Embrace the concept of upcycling, creatively repurposing items. Say no to excessive printing and opt for digital alternatives. Choose durable goods over disposable ones, promoting longevity. Efficiently manage e-waste through proper disposal methods. Consciously choose eco-friendly products and educate peers to foster a culture of waste reduction.
